EU, UK, US, Canadian, Australian and many other passports need no visa. Evidence of having visited Nagorno-Karabakh in the past can cause problems entering Azerbaijan, not Armenia; the Turkish and Azerbaijani land borders are closed, so overland entry is from Georgia or Iran only.
Drams in cash, cards in Yerevan
ATMs are common in cities; withdraw drams and carry cash for guesthouses, monasteries, minibuses and villages. Cards work in Yerevan restaurants and hotels. Prices are sometimes quoted in dollars for tours.
Cheap SIMs and good coverage
